Bu çalışmanın amacı, Topluma Hizmet Uygulamaları (THU) dersi kapsamında gerçekleştirilen uygulama ve faaliyetler ile ilgili Resim-iş Eğitimi Anabilim Dalında öğrenim gören öğretmen adaylarının görüşlerini araştırmaktır. Ayrıca hem nitel hem de nicel yöntemlerle gerçekleştirilmiştir. Çalışma evreni/örneklemini 2014-2015 bahar yarıyılında Atatürk Üniversitesi, Kazım Karabekir Eğitim Fakültesi, Resim İş eğitimi anabilim dalında bu dersi almakta olan 45 kişilik son sınıf öğrencisinden oluşturmuştur. Araştırmada nicel veriler likert tipi ”topluma hizmet dersinin değerlendirilmesi ölçeği” ile nitel veriler ise uzman görüşlerine dayalı olarak geliştirilen yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formu ile elde edilmiştir. Nicel verilerin analizinde yüzde, frekans, aritmetik ortalama ve standart sapma kullanılmıştır. Nitel verilere ise içerik analizi uygulanmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda elde edilen bulgulara göre Öğretmen adayları dersin kendilerine toplumsal duyarlılık, farkındalık, insan ilişkilerinde rahatlık ve sorumluluk kazandırdığını, kendilerine rehberlik eden öğretim görevlisinden yeterince yardım ve destek gördüklerini, gidilen kurum yönetici ve çalışanlarının destek ve yardımlarını gördüklerini belirtmişlerdir. Dersin katkılarının oldukça fazla olduğunu belirtseler de bazen maddi sıkıntıların oluştuğunu da vurgulamışlardır. Çalışmadan elde edilen diğer bulgulara göre ise dersin son sınıfta veriliyor olması öğretmen adaylarının okul deneyimi dersiyle aynı döneme geldiği için zorlandıklarını ve önce ki dönemlerde THU dersini almayı istediklerini ortaya çıkarmıştır. Elde edilen bulgular ışığında çalışmanın sonunda ileride gerçekleştirilecek araştırmalara yönelik birtakım önerilerde bulunulmuştur.
The aim of this study is to investigate the views of the visual arts teaching department students about activities covered by The Process Service-Learning lesson. Besides, the study is completed by the quantitative and qualitative techniques. The 45 Senior students of Atatürk University, Kazım Karabekir Faculty of Education, Visual Arts Teaching Department joined this investigation in the 2014-2015 Spring Semester. During the study the quantitive data is obtained from process service lesson evaluation scale by likert-type investigation and the qualititive data is obtained from a half constructed interview form developed by expertise views. During the analysis of the quantitative data, percentage, frequency, arithmetic mean and standard deviation are used and for qualititive data, content analysis is used. According to the data obtained from research results, teacher candidates state that The Process Service-Learning lesson brings them social sensitivity, awareness, responsibility and comfort in human relationships. They also think that they are getting sufficient help from the consultant lecturer and the relevant institutions managers and working staff. They specify that the process service lesson is helpful for them but sometimes some economical problems occur,too. The other data that is gained from the investigation is the difficulty in having two compulsive lessons; The Process Service-Learning lesson and school internship at the same time and they want to have The Process Service-Learning lesson in the earlier years of the school . By the light of the investigations results, some advices are presented.
