The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between the self-directed learning levels and piano learning styles of music students. This quantitative research employed a survey model and correlational research method. The data were collected using the "Self-Directed Learning Skills Scale", "Pamukkale Piano Learning Styles Scale" and "Personal Information Form" from a sample of 325 undergraduate students studying at Pamukkale University, Balikesir University, Canakkale Onsekiz Mart University, Mugla Sitki Kocman University, Aydin Adnan Menderes University and Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University Music Education Departments during the spring semester of the 2020-2021 academic year. The results indicated that there was no significant difference in the self-directed learning levels of the students based on gender, the high school type they graduated from, the university they attended, the duration of their piano education. However, there was a significant difference based on the their regular piano practice status, the number of piano instructors they work with, daily time spent on piano practice, the duration of their piano education, and the willingness to pursue graduate studies. The findings also revealed a positive and moderate statistically significant (p<0.05) relationship between the students' piano learning styles and selfdirected learning skills.
