The damages
seen in orthopedic/dental implants that are widely used today, since these
structures are generally related to their surfaces; the surface conditions of
these structures have attracted the attention of many researchers interested in
surface engineering around the world. In engineering applications, surface
treatments in macro, micro or atomic dimensions, which can be carried out in
gas, liquid or solid environments, are frequently applied to the material
surface in order to prevent the damage caused by the surface properties of the
materials and to increase the mechanical, tribological and electrochemical
performance of the materials.
In this
study, CoCrW samples were first produced with the Selective Laser Melting (SLM)
method with the dimensions of 10x10x2 mm, then the samples were boronized at
900°C – 1 hour and 900°C – 4 hours. Then, in order to increase the surface
activity, 45S5 Bioactive Glass material with high biocompatibility was coated
on the surfaces of these samples by Electrophoretic Deposition (EPD) method.
Then, the characterization of the obtained surface was examined with XRD, SEM,
FT-IR devices. This study was supported by BAP of Atatürk University under
project no: FCD-2021-8958.
