Özet

In this study, Alevi-Bektashi Culture, which is an important element of Turkish Folk Culture and Turkish Folk Music, is discussed, information is given about the Semah genre that this culture has kept alive for centuries, and it is aimed to musically analyse the semah folk song ‘Hakikat Gizli Sırdır’ recorded from the Aegean region. For this purpose, the most appropriate makam analysis method was determined and the analysis was carried out. Turkish music is analysed from two different branches as folk music and art music. However, since the musical theory used is basically the same, we have made the calculation of our maqam analyses in our study by using the logic of variations or triplets, quartets and fifths developed by Arel-Ezgi Uzdilek and the melody sentence-motif method used by Mehmet Can Pelikoğlu. By referring to the use of quartets and fifths in Turkish music, a sample work is presented to show the results of the combination of these quartets and fifths to form makam scales and the change of the positions of these structures. The fact that the Semah genre contains many variables in terms of makam and usul emphasises the importance of the analysis of the work. It is also important that the works written in this genre are researched and analysed in every aspect in terms of both the continuity and understanding of our culture and its transfer to future generations. When the work in our study is analysed, the results we come across are briefly as follows; the work completely fulfils the requirements of the Semah genre and has a deep artistic expression. We have obtained this depth primarily from the literary information from the lyrics. The lyrics, which have a lyrical structure, contain important expressions of the philosophy of life. When analysed musically, especially the harmony between the lyrics and the composition draws attention. This harmony shows us the depth in folk music and reveals that none of the burned and produced works were composed without any concern for art. It is also understood from the melody structure that the work was influenced by the region where it was produced.
