The aim of this study was to reveal the research trends in studies on educational digital storytelling the to provide an overview the story subject area. For this purpose, research data were obtained through document analysis. The study was carried out in two stages. In the first stage, it was decided on the studies to be examined by scanning the literature according to the criteria determined. In the second stage, relevant information was extracted from the studies under methodological headings and analyzed. The total number of studies were 123 that fit the specified criteria and were included in the analysis. In the findings obtained from the analysis of the studies, the research trends were presented in categories. When the main analysis results were examined, it was seen that the most frequently used research method in the studies was qualitative and the research design was case study. University level as the sample group and foreign language education as the subject area were preferred more frequently. Academic achievement, participant experiences, attitude, writing skill and motivation variables have been prominent variables in studies on digital storytelling.
