Since mankind has existed, he has consumed the resources in nature and nature at a level that would disturb the natural balance, and caused environmental problems, which is an important problem of today. The excessive consumption ambition of human beings has negatively affected the life of the world and caused today's world problems. Excessive population growth, which is another reason for today's world problems, brings with it many problems. Rapid consumption of natural resources, labor and nutrition are the leading problems. It is an inevitable fact that raising awareness of people in issues that concern the world for the solution of the problems arising from today's world problems. Teacher candidates, if they have positive attitudes towards today's world problems in their professional lives, can reflect these positive attitudes to their students and increase their awareness of today's problems and enable them to create positive attitudes. In this study, it was aimed to investigate the attitude levels of science, social studies, classroom and mathematics teacher candidates to today's world problems according to the variables of department, class, gender, age, economic income, and the longest-lived settlement. Problem status of the research: "Do the levels of science, social studies, classroom and mathematics teacher candidates differ according to the variables of department, class, gender, age, economic income and the longest-lived settlement?" and the answers to the following research questions were sought: 1. Do the prospective teachers' attitude levels towards today's world problems show a significant difference according to the department? 2. Do the prospective teachers' attitude levels towards today's world problems show a significant difference according to the class level? 3. Do the prospective teachers' attitude levels towards today's world problems show a significant difference according to gender? 4. Is there a significant relationship between pre-service teachers' attitudes towards today's world problems and their ages? 5. Do teacher candidates' attitudes towards today's world problems show a significant difference according to economic income? 6. Do teacher candidates' attitudes towards today's world problems show a significant difference compared to the longest-lived settlement? Cross-sectional screening research, which is one of the descriptive models, was used in the research. In research studies, it is aimed to define the characteristics of a population and the desired result is to reveal how the population is distributed according to one or more variables. The universe of the research is the pre-service teachers studying at Atatürk University science teacher, social studies teacher, classroom teacher, and mathematics teacher education programs in the 2019-2020 academic year. Firstly, the percentage distribution of the teacher candidates in the programs was determined according to the grade levels. Afterward, pre-service teachers were sampled from the classroom levels with the stratified sampling method. Class level distributions of the individuals in the sample were determined to represent the class level distributions in the universe. 30 pre-service teachers from each class level were sampled from each program and in total, 480 pre-service teachers were studied, including 120 teacher candidates from each department. Attitude Scale Towards Today's World Problems was used in the research. Independent groups t-test, descriptive statistics, one-way ANOVA and correlation analysis were used in the analyzes since it was determined that the data showed normal distribution and assumptions of parametric tests were provided. As a result of examining the change in attitude according to the education department, it was concluded that there was a significant difference between science, social studies, mathematics and classroom in favor of science education and between social studies and classroom education in favor of social studies. It can be said that this situation is since students studying in science education are more sensitive to environmental problems than students in other departments due to the content of the program. Similarly, it can be said that the students studying in social studies education are more sensitive in this regard than the pre-service teachers because the world problems have more place in the teaching content. When the change in attitude according to the class level is examined; The differentiation observed in science and mathematics education is not meaningful, but in favor of first-grade teacher candidates between first and second grades in social studies education; It was found that there is a significant difference between the first and fourth grades in the first and fourth grades and third and fourth grades in favor of third-grade teacher candidates and in general in favor of first-grade teacher candidates between the first and third grades. When the change in attitude according to gender was examined, it was determined that there was no difference between women and men in science, social studies and mathematics education, and there was a significant difference in favor of classroom education and women in general. When the relationship between the ages and attitudes of prospective teachers was examined, there is no significant relationship between the ages and attitudes of prospective teachers studying in science, social studies and mathematics education; It has been determined that there is a moderate negative and significant relationship between the ages and attitudes of pre-service teachers studying in classroom education and there is a low negative and significant relationship between the ages and attitudes of pre- service teachers.
