In this study, simple and fast square wave voltammetry (SWV) and differential pulse voltammetry (DPV) methods were developed and validated for determination of fulvestrant in pharmaceutical preparation. The proposed methods were based on electrochemical oxidation of fulvestrant at platinum electrode in acetonitrile solution containing 0.1 M LiClO4. The calibration curves were linear for fulvestrant at the concentration range of 5-30 mu g/mL for SWV and DPV methods, respectively. Intra- and interday precision values for fulvestrant were less than 3.22, and accuracy (relative error) was better than 1.86%. The mean recovery of fulvestrant was 100.4% for pharmaceutical preparations. The methods were applied for the quality control of commercial fulvestrant dosage form to quantify the drug and to check the formulation content uniformity.
