Zinc sulfide thin films are deposited by spray pyrolysis. The growths are varied to attain suitable properties for the application as a buffer layer and electron transport layer in solar cells. All prepared films present a cubic ZnS phase. The 2 min depositions time show a constant transmittance (similar to 94%) in the visible region. Transmittance variations are similar to the crystal quality, and this can be related to the surface morphologies. The band gaps E-g did not show significant variation with deposition times.
