Özet

The aim of the study reported in this paper was to determine the spatial relationship between air and rail transport and national carbon dioxide emissions (CDE). Indicators for air transport, rail transport and transport CDE for 41 countries were examined. A spatial analysis method was then used to determine the spatial autocorrelations between airline and railway indicators and transport CDE indicators to examine their spatial distribution. Spatial autocorrelation was determined by using the local indicators in the spatial association analysis method. It was determined that there is less carbon dioxide emitted in countries where rail transport is used effectively, while countries with much air transport have high CDE.
