Özet

Parion, a city of the Troas region, is located in Kemer village, Biga district, at the present-day city of Çanakkale. Since 2005, excavations have been carried out at the Archaic city of Parion at various areas: The Southern Necropolis, the Theatre, the Odeion, the Roman Bath, the Slope Bath, and the Agora shops.

The majority of the classical-period ceramics which are the subject of this study were uncovered in the Southern Necropolis. In addition, potsherds which belong to the same period were found in the areas mentioned above and on the acropolis. The presence of a small number of archaeological data related to the establishment’s date and the early (Archaic and Classical) periods of the city reveals the importance of Classical pottery. Among the various groups, Attic red-figure and black-glazed pottery are in majority and will be presented for the first time in this study.
