Özet
Abstract: Control of mechanical clearances in automotive suspension components has been a subject of extensive research due to its direct impact on vehicle dynamics, durability, and noise–vibration performance.”In recent years, considerable research has focused on reducing axial clearances in ball joint–tie rod end mechanisms, as such clearances are closely associated with wear, vibration, and overall suspension system performance. The axial clearance problem frequently encountered in ball joint-tie rod end mechanisms in automotive suspension systems has been addressed by attempting to improve it through the use of alternative bearing materials. The POM (Polyoxymethylene) based bearings used in existing systems were comparatively evaluated with nanocomposite bearings containing PA6 + 5% Montmorillonite and PA6 + 10 wt.% SEBS-g-MA + 5 wt.% OMMT nanocomposite. A CAD model including all components was created in the NX Unigraphics environment, and finite element analyses were performed in Ansys software. All parts except the bearing were considered rigid, and only the deformation effect of the bearing material was isolated. In a three-step static structural analysis scenario, the first step simulated assembly pre-stresses, and in subsequent steps, clearance formation was evaluated by applying an axial force of ±1000 N. The nanocomposite material (PA6 + MMT) showed improvement in lower axial clearance values compared to POM in all loading scenarios.
