Özet

The purpose of this study is to estimate the date production amounts of the top 10 leading countries in world date production, as well as global date production in 2023-2028. We analyzed FAOSTAT data from 1961 to 2022 in order to identify appropriate models and generate forecasts. From 2023 to 2028, we anticipate that the world will produce 10.15, 10.07, 10.57, 10.35, 10.95, and 10.66 million t of dates. Upon independent analysis of the major global production countries, we found that Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Algeria, Iran, Pakistan, and Iraq accounted for 17.48%, 15.56%, 12.57%, 11.78%, 10.37, and 7.17%, respectively. Based on these findings, leading countries do not dominate in terms of export amount and income; in contrast, Israel and Mexico, each with a 1% production share, contributed 3.91 and 4.02% of world exports in 2022, respectively. The key traits of these two countries include prioritizing research and development, cultivating high-yielding and flavorful varieties tailored to consumer preferences, and emphasizing export. Leading producers typically prioritize domestic consumption over market sales. By focusing on research and development (R&D) and producing high-value varieties aligned with consumer preferences, current production leaders can expand their market share.
