Özet

The present study aimed to examine the mediating role of psychological well-being in the relationship between occupational commitment and burnout among international basketball coaches. Using a relational survey design, data were collected from 200 coachesthrough an online questionnaire. Occupational Commitment, burnout, and psychological well-being were assessed using validated instruments. Mediation analysis was conducted using Hayes’s PROCESS Model 4 with 5,000 bootstrap resamples. The results showed that Occupational commitment was significantly and positively associated with burnout (B = 1.0112, p < .001) and psychological well-being (B = 0.3769, p = .005), whereas psychological well-being was significantly and negatively associated with burnout (B = −0.1772, p = .016). In addition, the indirect effect of occupational commitment on burnout through psychological well-being was significant (B = −0.0668, 95% CI [−0.1690, −0.0022]), indicating mediation. Overall, the findings suggest that psychological well-being may serve as a protective psychological resource in relation to burnout and emphasize the importance of strengthening psychological resources for sustainable coaching careers.
