CONTEMPORARY PROSPECTS AND TENDENCIES IN LANGUAGE, LITERATURE AND CULTURE, Erzurum, Türkiye, 4 - 05 Kasım 2021, ss.54, (Özet Bildiri)
As we have all come to know, beginning with the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, the
necessity to implement safety measures for public health brought about unprecedented times of
uncertainty. With the majority of the workforce having transitioned to distant operations, it
became imperative that educators around the world show significant adaptability and ingenuity.
Until a full transition to in-person education can be made possible, e-learning stands in the center
of providing accessible quality education. It is therefore our utmost responsibility to ensure that
we come up with innovative approaches to teaching and learning in an online environment,
where inclusion and participation are essential. And in order to be able to successfully transition
to such a system that meets the demands of our university communities, we need to work in
collaboration, give and learn from constructive feedback, and re-evaluate all aspects of our
gradually evolving methodology in every step of the way. Every opinion whether belonging to
university instructors or students should stand at the forefront of how we can enhance the
exchange of valuable knowledge that takes place in institutions of higher education. I would like
to conclude my words with a question we all need to ask ourselves: How prepared are we as
university instructors and students to tackle the challenges ahead of us as we make this transition
to online education?
