Determining of the Best Drinking Water Preference in Erzurum Province

Özet

The purpose of this study is to determine of the most suitable drinking water type for consumers in the Erzurum province in 2014. In the research, received information from total 400 households is used in Yakutiye, Aziziye and Palandoken district for this purpose. AHP is used to determine the most appropriate drinking water choice for consumers in the study. Households have 4 alternatives for drinking water. The consumers give the most important to hygiene, taste, mineral content, price and ease of transportation, respectively. Using percent of consumer for purifier, bottled, fountain and municipal mains water are 6.38, 21.52, 27.18 and 44.92, respectively. However, according to priorities of gave criteria choice percent of consumers for purifier, municipal mains water, fountain and bottled are 18.06, 19.37, 28.81 and 33.76, respectively. According to the result of the study, the most suitable drinking water for household is determined as bottled water. Anxieties relating to taste of the municipal mains water are continued. Therefore municipals must make efforts to improve about the taste of the drinking water. Also, purifier seller must information consumers about these devices and to provide required price advantages. In this way, more reliable water will be delivered to consumers.
