In spite of the negative effect of technological developments, "Saya", a traditional seasonal festival, continues to be practiced in Turkey and Azerbaijan. The saya festival is celebrated 100 days after the mating period of sheep. In the ensuing rituals a certain number of dramatic performances are presented. These rituals mainly originate from the assumption that a lamb in its mother's womb fledges on the hundredth day and that a lamb reaching its hundredth day in its mother's womb has a high probability of being born alive. In this study, rituals in Turkey and Azerbaijan are compared.
