The dissolution kinetics of marble in citric acid solutions was investigated. The effects of reaction temperature, particle size, acid concentration and stirring speed are examined. It is determined that the dissolution rate for process is controlled by chemical surface reaction. The activation energy and pre-exponential factor of the process are calculated to be 26.40 kJ.mol(-1) and 1634 min(-1), respectively. In addition, a mathematical model which can describe the process well has been developed.
