Özet

The aim of this study is to determine whether micro teaching applications effect the self-sufficiency levels of visual arts teacher candidates in terms of experimental-control groups and gender. The research was done with Ataturk University Kazim Karabekir Education Faculty's Department of Art Teaching's students which consisted of a total number of 36 4th grade visual arts teacher candidates. In the study, the teacher candidates were divided into two groups as experimental and control group via randomization. To determine the self-sufficiency levels of the teacher candidates in the level of data gathering of the research, an "Interview Form" and a "Teacher Self-Sufficiency Perception Scale", which was developed by Moran and Woolfolk-Hoy and adapted to Turkish by Oapa, Oakiroglu and Sarikaya, was applied. Scale 24 a 5 point likert scale consisting of 24 matters. The gathered data from the data gathering device were transferred to SPSS 17.0 package software and the statistical analysis were done following the resolution of the acquired data. In order to determine the effects of the micro teaching on visual arts teacher candidates' self-sufficiency levels, Mann Whitney U test was employed. Parametric statistics methods were applied on portions which demonstrated a normal data spread, and non-Parametric statistics methods were applied on portions which demonstrated an abnormal data spread. The states which are related to which technique was used in which manner and whether the students in Methodology II class'; experimental-control groups, types of graduate schools and genders were analyzed via Mann Whitney U test to determine whether a meaningful difference exists and whether the experimental-control group and genders difference provide a normal spread was analyzed with Kolmogorov-Smirnov test. In conclusion; it's observed that an environment to improve participant teacher candidate's perception of self-sufficiency and self-sufficiency perception levels' improvement were accomplished on a great scale. Additionally, it's avowable that this study improved the effect of micro teaching in Ataturk University, Kazim Karabekir Education Faculty's Art Teaching Department on visual art teacher candidates' self-sufficiency levels.
