ABSTRACT
Wound is defined as the complete or temporary loss of physiological properties when a tissue encounters more
than it can resist. On the other hand, the wound; it is a process that causes a decrease in the quality of life of
individuals, restricts them socially and increases the cost, which can affect not only the individual with the
injury, but the whole society. Wound that are acute or chronic; surgical wounds, traumatic wounds; consists
of pressure sores and leg ulcers. In addition, pressure sores, which have a significant prevalence in the world
health system, pose a serious problem. Althought all wounds are considered chronic at first, they may become
chronic if they do not heal within 4-6 weeks. In this respect, health professional nurses have important duties.
The duty of nurses in these processes is to ensure the optimal well-being of the patient in the holistic care trail,
to create a barrier to infections/complications, and to provide the patients with psychosocial support as well as
the training they need, A burn is an acute injury caused by exposure of the skin tissue or other underlying
tissues to heat, electricity, cold, radioactive rays and chemicals. Burn is an acute wound; althought it seems
simple, it causes thousands of deaths every year due to physical, sociological and economic problems, as well
as the morbidity and mortality it causes. At this stage, the nurse in the care center is a touchstone in terms of
knowing the needs of the wound in detail in the acute period and providing emergency car efor all these, in
terms of sustaining the individual’s life.
