Özet

Increasing environmental concerns due to global warming and air pollution have tremendously increased research on clean energy production in recent years. Hydrogen, which is basically produced by the electrolysis of water, is one of the focal points in these studies as it does not release toxic gases into the atmosphere during its use. Goal of this research is to present electrochemical synthesis and characterization of nickel nanoparticle modified graphene/copper(II) oxide nanocomposites, and indicate electrocatalytic effect on hydrogen production. The field emission scanning electron microscopy, X-ray powder diffraction spectroscopy, linear sweep voltammetry and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy were used to state the morphological, analytical and electrochemical properties of nanocomposite. The observed results showed that electrochemically synthesized nickel nanoparticle modified graphene/copper(II) oxide nanocomposites exhibit a sufficient electrocatalytic activity for hydrogen production.
