This article reviews the current state of TiO2 nanotube use in dye-sensitized solar cells, its advantages, and changes in power conversion efficiency that may occur in different uses. Some studies have been carried out on the optimization of photoanodes, dyes, electrolytes and photocathodes to improve the performance of dye-sensitized solar cells. One of them was to produce electrodes in nanotube structure instead of TiO2 particles used in the anode because TiO2 nanotube structure has unique properties in photovoltaic applications. In this review, anodization and hydrothermal methods, which are TiO2 nanotube production techniques, have been investigated and the studies on increasing the power conversion efficiency of dye-sensitized solar cells using TiO2 nanotubes and their effects have been emphasized.
