Özet

In this study, kinetics and mechanism of the reaction between colemanite and chlorine saturated water have been investigated. In the experiments, the ratio of the solid to liquid, particle size, stirring rate and temperature have been chosen as parameters. It has been seen that the reacted fraction of mineral increases as particle size and the ratio of the solid to liquid diminishes and the reaction temperature rises. Stirring rate was not effective on the dissolution. In a result, it has been shown that reacted fraction is chemically controlled and the activation energy for this dissolution is 35.56 kJ mol(-1) and Arrhenius constant is 3.7 x 10(3) cm s(-1), respectively.
