Özet

Today, audiovisual media and recently social media come to mind rather than printed press while mentioning reporting. The factors as Consumption time of media material, financial aspect of consumption and sufficient cultural units have an influence on the switch of the preference of following news to the television. With its certain, specific and basic characteristics, television broadcasting of news is a renewable kind of media product which is constructed as regards fictional material. Television news narration is affected by special cinematographic factors as camera, construction, animation, digital studio implementations and special effects as well as the content of the event, source of news, structure of media organisation, political, economic and cultural transmission processes and the worldview of the people who take part in preparation of news. The effects adapted to television from cinematography are rather used in news to effect audiences in the context of providing realism and increasing persuasiveness. In this direction, the main object of the study is to examine the usage of special effect technologies in television main news bulletins, as one of the elements applied in creation of narration structure of television news. In this context thematic broadcasting news channels NTV and CNN Turk are adopted as samples and their main news bulletins are examined for their special effect usages. Special effects usage, number of news, duration, distribution based on types, application to sound and video and types of special effects are analyzed and their distribution based on days and channels is determined. Literature review in television news area and content analysis on determination of special effects in main news bulletins are adopted as methodologies.
