ABSTRACT
Skin and soft tissue infections are an important health problem. Generally, there are predisposing causes such
as ischemic conditions, traumas, invasive procedures, burns, immunosuppression, diabetes, polyneuropathy
due to vascular causes or lymphedema in which skin integrity or nutrition is impaired. Early diagnosis and
treatment are important as in all diseases. The agent can spread rapidly to deep tissues and blood circulation,
leading to life-threatening septic pictures. In addition to appropriate antimicrobial therapy and wound care
based on culture antibiogram, the patient should be evaluated holistically and treatments for predisposing
causes should also be planned. Factors such as tissue ischemia, vascular insufficiency, cardiac insufficiency
should be kept in mind. Treatments that increase tissue oxygenation and nutrition should be added. Tissue
edema should resolve rapidly and perfusion should be achieved. For this, elevation, cold application antiedema
treatment should be done. Necessary supplements should be made to regulate the patient's immune response.
All the causes that can be corrected with a multidisciplinary and holistic approach should be eliminated and
patient education should be done to prevent the infection from recurring; all precautions should be taken.
