Özet

The Golden Horde State, one of the most important factors in the Turko-Mongolian history, has managed to influence the political and economic parameters on a regional scale since its establishment. In addition to the policies it pursued, the location chosen for the capital of the state, Saray, was of great importance in this success. In addition to hosting the political activities of the Golden Horde, the city of Saray also managed to become one of the important stops of regional commercial activities. Saray became a city where vassal states declared their allegiance, was frequently visited by embassies in the framework of diplomatic activities, where scholars, clergy and artisans could find a fertile environment for themselves, where travelers, missionaries and merchants could visit with peace of mind, and became one of the important routes for trade caravans. However, the political, social, cultural, religious and economic fabric of this city has not been sufficiently revealed until today due to lack of resources. This study tries to reveal the position and importance of the city of Saray in the medieval world in various aspects.
