This study aims to determine the effect of the “Talk for Writing” Model on writing
skills in teaching Turkish as a foreign language. Pre-test and post-test experiment-control
group quasi-experimental design was used in this study. The work group of the research is
comprised of thirty-one B2 level students who are learning Turkish as a foreign language of
TÖMER (i.e. Turkish Language Learning Center) at Inönü University. In the study, for
quantitative data analysis, U test, was utilized. Based on the findings, it can be concluded that
the “Talk for Writing” model made a significant contribution to the writing skills of B2-level
students learning Turkish as a foreign language.
