There are various ways and methods for transmitting cultural heritage to the next generations. One of them is to take advantage of contemporary arts. After Dede Korkut's cultural heritage was inscribed by UNESCO on the List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, attention on this matter intensified. The play "Bir Nefes Dede Korkut", staged by the actors of the Turkish State Theatres, is one of the first examples of this attention. The play's premiere was held on March 13, 2019 in Istanbul and the play was performed outside of Turkey dozens of times and has won several awards. In this study, the play performed by the actors of the Istanbul State Theatres on February 20-22, 2020 in Erzurum will be examined. The text of the game has not been published, therefore, the game has been watched several times. The difficulty arising from the absence of the text was thus overcome. Although the non-published text of the game makes it difficult to evaluate, this difficulty has been overcome by watching the game carefully several times. It is clear that such a review will be more useful, given that it is an artistic act that has taken place literally after being presented to the audience of a game. The messages of goodness, peace and virtue revealed by the Book of Dede Korkut centuries ago were presented to the audience with the possibilities of contemporary performing arts in this play. Types of folk theater used in terms of technique and content are as follows: Karagoz, orta oyunu, meddah, village plays, puppetry tradition and tuluat. In addition, contemporary performing arts techniques have been used. Three of the narratives in the Book of Dede Korkut staged by presentational theater technique. For this reason, there are a small number of decorations and costume accessories in the game. The narratives "Dirse Han Oglu Bogac Han", "Duha Koca Oglu Deli Dumrul" and "Basat'in Tepegozu Oldurmesi" were conveyed to the audience through a narrator, and the events were animated with the games in the game during the narration. In "Bir Nefes Dede Korkut", the idea that this world is temporary and that a person will leave here shortly after arriving as a guest is emphasized. It is stated that what is permanent in this world, which is temporary, is goodness and that the priority value that people must pursue is virtue. This was Korkut Ata's message hundreds of years ago. The stage where the game is exhibited is also organized in line with this understanding. Organized in a circle reminiscent of the earth globe, the scene's constant accessory is a red ball of yarn and eight long sticks. The bars, about one and a half meters long, serve to show many decorative elements on the stage. Light and effect factors have been used effectively in the game. The intensity of dance and music draws attention as an important element that connects the audience to the stage.
