This study aims to analyze the socioeconomic, demographic and technique factors affecting success of dairy
farms. For this end, primary data obtained from 120 dairy farms in Erzurum were used for multi-linear regression model. In
SPSS statistical program, significant factors in the model were determined by stepwise selection technique. According to
regression results of the analysis, the increase of labor amount and farms being far from province center decreases the
performance of farms. However, milk yield, number of cow, barn quality, amount of concentrated feed and high ratio of
culture-crossbred cow increases profitability of dairy farms. Effective use of the factors affecting the profitability of farm
positively, selection of optimal farm capacity and having farms being close to centers minimize production cost, thus
increases the competitiveness of farms
