The Lalpha(1,2), Lgamma(1), Lgamma(2,3,6,8), Lgamma(4,4') and Lys X-ray fluorescence cross-sections for some elements in the atomic range 72less than or equal toZless than or equal to92 were measured at 59.54 keV. L subshell fluorescence cross-sections (sigma(L1), sigma(L2) and sigma(L3)) and relative intensity ratios (sigma(L1)/sigma(L2), sigma(L1)/sigma(L3) and sigma(L2)/sigma(L3)) were determined by using these experimental results. In addition, these cross-sections and relative intensity ratios were calculated theoretically. These experimental and theoretical relative intensity ratios were compared with each other and a fairly good agreement between these experimental and theoretical results were found. Besides, our results for L subshell fluorescence cross-sections were compared with the values of Sahin et al. (J. Phys. B 33 (2000) 93). Good agreement between these values was found for sigma(L3), but there is no agreement for sigma(L1) and sigma(L2). (C) 2003 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
