This study aimed to research the effects of cutaneous and oral exposure to aluminum nanoparticles (Al-NPs) and magnesium nanoparticles (Mg-NPs) on protein and sugar metabolism, as well as some organs, such as liver, kidneys and heart, by measuring some biochemical parameters (glucose, creatinine, alanine aminotransferase-ALT, total protein, albumin, gamma glutamyl transferase-GGT, amylase, creatinine phosphokinase-CK). The study was conducted on 10 groups of male Wistar-Albino rats. The experiments were performed by using single dose applications in control groups (group 1 and group 2), groups to which Al and Mg NPs were orally administered in doses of 500 and 1500 mg/kg (group 3, group 4, group 5 and group 6), and groups to which Al and Mg NPs were cutaneously administered in doses of 1000 and 2000 mg/kg (group 7, group 8, group 9 and group 10). In the study, serum glucose, creatinine, ALT, GGT, amylase and CK levels were increased and serum total protein levels were reduced in groups given 500 and 1500 mg/kg Mg-NPs and 1500 mg/kg Al-NPs orally and groups given 2000 mg/kg of Al and Mg NPs cutaneously. As a result, the effect of Al and Mg NPs was observed to vary depending on the method of administration, the dose and the duration.
