Özet

In this study, it is aimed to examine the effects of doing Lego Robotics activities on the scientific process skills of the students in the "Force and Motion" unit of the 6th grade science lesson. In the study, a quasiexperimental design with pretest-posttest control group was used. The sample of the research; It consists of 48 students in total, the experimental group (n=24) and the control group (n=24), studying in the sixth grade of Barbaros Hayrettin Paşa Secondary School in the Palandöken district of Erzurum province. "Force and Movement" unit was taught in control and experimental groups with active student-centered current methods recommended by the Ministry of National Education. In addition, teaching was enriched with lego robotic applications in the experimental group. In order to obtain the data of the research, Aydoğdu et al. (2012) multiple choice Science Process Skill Test (BSBT) consisting of 27 questions was used. The same measurement tool was applied to both groups both at the beginning and at the end of the study. For the analysis of the data obtained from the measurement tool, the distribution of the data was examined and normality tests were performed. It was determined that the data showed normal distribution and t test was used in the analysis. As a result of the analyzes made, it was determined that the mean BSB pre-test scores of the control and experimental groups were statistically equivalent, and there was a significant difference between the mean scores of the posttest. This situation; shows that teaching science courses together with lego robotics activities in addition to the current curriculum increases students' scientific process skills.
