This study aims to determine the effect of reduction mammoplasty on low back pain, self-anxiety, and sexual quality of life. The study was conducted with 51 female patients who met the criteria. The data were collected using a descriptive characteristics form, the Oswestry Disability Index, the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale, and the Sexual Quality of Life Questionnaire-Female. The patients had moderate (22.64SD6.72) low back pain in the preoperative period, which decreased (3.21SD6.59) in the postoperative period. The patients had significantly lower Oswestry Disability Index and Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale mean scores in the postoperative period than in the preoperative period (p < 0.05). The patients’ self-esteem increased after the surgery. However, there was no significant difference between their preoperative and postoperative Sexual Quality of Life Questionnaire-Female mean scores (p > 0.05). This study found a significant decrease in low back pain and a significant increase in self-esteem in patients after reduction mammoplasty, whereas no significant change was found in their sexual quality of life.
