Direct liquid fuel cells: Fundamentals, Advances and Future, Ramiz Gültekin Akay,Ayşe Bayrakçeken Yurtcan, Editör, Academic Press , Massachusetts, ss.249-273, 2020
Direct
liquid feed fuel cells (DLFCs) seem to have potential fields especially for
portable and mobile applications when compared to hydrogen based fuel cells.
The type of liquid used strongly affects the electro-catalyst and materials
type used in the fuel cells. The performance of the DLFC also affected by the electrolyte
type either being anion exchange or cation exchange membranes. This chapter
summarizes the uncommonly used liquids for fuel cell applications given in the
literature including 2-propanol, ethylene glycol, ascorbic acid and ascorbate,
and also some blended fuels.
