Solar steam generation technology based on photothermal materials has attracted significant attention for seawater desalination and wastewater treatment. Here, a high-performance photothermal conversion material is prepared by doping MnZn-Metal-Organic Framework (MOF) homogeneously into the three-dimensional graphene sponge (GrS). MnZn-MOF/GrS, possessing the porous structure of GrS and strong light absorption of the MnZn-MOF, achieved a high photothermal conversion efficiency (86 %) and the water evaporation rate (3.05 kg m-2h−1) under one sun irradiation. Moreover, the excellent performance of solar steam generation is retained in long-term and real-life experiments. This study suggests a practical preparation technique, excellent desalination performance, sustainable, and eco-friendly approach for developing efficient photothermal material in the solar steam generator-based water treatment industry.
