The aim of this study is to test a practice-oriented model designed to develop the intercultural competence of prospective tourist guides. Intercultural competence is regarded as an integral component of inclusive education. The ongoing transformation of higher education involves a shift from traditional knowledge transmission to competency-based and practice-oriented learning. This shift is particularly important in the training of students studying tourist guiding. Contemporary tourist guiding practices require guides to respect cultural differences, avoid prejudices and stereotypes, communicate effectively with individuals students’ intercultural competence was tested. The model was implemented in foreign language classes involving large groups of students taught by a native speaker of the target language. Students assumed the role of tourist guides and prepared presentations and videos in a foreign language about local tourist attractions. The videos were shared on social media platforms on a voluntary basis. At the end of the process, an anonymous group survey was conducted, encouraging students to engage in self-ssessment and peer assessment. The findings indicate that the proposed practice-oriented model integrates digital resources into the educational process, promotes respect for cultural differences, supports the development of skills necessary to create an inclusive communication environment for all group members, and contributes to the development of prospective tourist guides’ intercultural competence. Furthermore, the model is consistent with the fundamental principles of inclusive education and sustainable tourism.
