Günümüz koşullarında eğitim-öğretimde sadece sınıf ortamı ile sınırlı olmadan her türlü okul dışı öğrenme ortamından yararlanılması gerekliliği ortaya çıkmıştır. Bireyselleştirilmiş öğrenmeyi de destekleyen okul dışı ortamlarda kişi kendi öğrenme hızına göre öğrenir, çevresindekilerle etkileşime girerek günlük hayatla bağlantılı olarak deneyim kazanır. Birey eğlenerek öğrenir ve sosyal becerisi gelişir. Öğrenciler için tatil dönemlerinde organize edilen, eğitici olduğu kadar eğlenceli vakit geçirebilecekleri yerlerden birisi de düzenlenen kamplardır. Bahsedilen amaçları karşılama hedefiyle “Bilim, Astronomi ve Kayak Eğitimi (BAK) Kampı” ortaokul öğrencileri için 2018-2019 ara tatilde bir haftalık bir program olarak Erzurum il sınırları içerisinde düzenlenmiştir. Bu kamp toplam 8 ortaokul öğrencisi ve alanında uzman 5 eğitmen, bir kamp koordinatörü ve 2 yardımcı eleman ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Kampta öğrenci yaş ve sınıf seviyesi göz önüne alınarak astronomi eğitimi, ışık ve görme konularına ait etkinlikler, teleskop yapımı ve uzay gözlemi, mikroskop kullanımına yönelik etkinlikler, iletişim oyunları, kayak eğitimi, doğa ve tarihi geziler düzenlenmiştir. Kamp süresince öğrencilerin yaşadıkları deneyimler, öğrencilerle yapılan kamp sonrası görüşmelerle ölçülmüştür. Veriler ses kaydı yardımıyla kağıda dökülmüş ve doğrudan alıntılar yapılarak betimsel bir yaklaşımla analiz edilmiştir. Analiz sonuçlarına göre kamp tüm öğrenciler tarafından oldukça öğretici ve eğlenceli bulunmuştur. Öğrenciler okulda gördükleri fen derslerindeki bilgileri tatilde farklı ortamlarda (üniversite laboratuvarı) tekrar ettiklerini ve daha akılda kalıcı bir şekilde öğrendiklerini ifade etmişlerdir. Sosyal bakımdan ise farklı arkadaşlıklar kurduklarını ve beraberce vakit geçirmenin onları çok mutlu ettiğini söylemişlerdir. Kamp süresinde birçok şeyi daha çok merak ettiklerini ve daha çok soru sorduklarını belirtmişlerdir. Ek olarak, katılımcı öğrenciler kampı süre olarak az bulduklarını vurgulamışlardır. Bir daha böyle bir kamp düzenlenirse katılma isteklerini hem aileleriyle hem de kamp eğitmenleriyle paylaşmışlardır.
In today's conditions, the necessity of using any kind of out-of-school learning environment has emerged in education without being limited to the classroom environment only. In out-of-school environments, which also support individualized learning, the person learns according to their own learning speed, interacts with those around him and gains experience in connection with daily life. The individual learns with fun and develops social skills. One of the places where students can have fun as well as educational activities, which are organized during the holidays, are the camps. "Science, Astronomy and Ski Training (SAS) Camp” was organized as a one-week program for middle school students in 2018-2019 mid-term holiday time conducted in Erzurum province. This camp was performed with a total of eight middle school students and five instructors, a camp coordinator and two assistants who are experts in their field. In the camp, astronomy education, light and vision activities, telescope construction and space observation, microscope activities, communication games, ski education, nature and historical trips were organized considering the age and level of the students. The experiences of the students during the camp were measured by post-camp interviews with the students. The data were recorded on a paper with the help of sound recording and analyzed directly using a descriptive approach with direct quotations. According to the results of the analysis, the camp was found to be highly instructive and entertaining by all students. The students stated that they repeated the knowledge in the science lessons they saw at school in different settings (university laboratory) during the holiday and learned in a more memorable way. In social perspective, they said that they formed different friendships and spending time together made them very happy. They stated that they were more curious about many things during the camp time and asked more questions. In addition, the participating students emphasized that they found the camp to be short in duration. If such a camp was ever organized again, they shared their willingness to participate with both their families and camp instructors.
