Aim: Knowledge of root canal anatomies and differences in canal morphology is essential for successful endodontic
treatment.1 Although lower premolar teeth usually have a single root and canal, root canal anatomy and morphology can
show wide variations.2 -6 In some studies in the literature, this rate is 65.7-100%. and the incidence rate of two channels
is 1.2- 11.7%, and the rate of finding three channels is 0.4%.7-10
The aim of this case report is to present the diagnosis and endodontic treatment of the mandibular first premolar tooth
with two canals.
Case: A 15-year-old male patient was admitted to our clinic with the complaint of spontaneous pain in the right
mandibular molar region. As a result of clinical and radiographic evaluations, it was decided to perform root canal
treatment for tooth #44. It was observed Vertucci Type 5 canal configuration in tooth #44 in radiographic examination.
The patient was informed and root canal treatment was started. After the canal preparation was completed, the canals
were filled with the cold lateral condensation technique using 30.04 guttapercha.
