Özet

The purpose of the study was to determine the factors that are effective on the decisions of milk production enterprises to make production within the market by keeping the milk within their body or delivering the milk to dairies in the province of Tekirdağ. The data of the study was collected using 89 questionnaires conducted in the province of Tekirdağ. In this context, while the producers who make production for the market by delivering their milk to dairies were coded as 1, those who make production for their domestic needs were coded as 0. SPSS package program was used to identify factors having an effect on the dependent variable with logit regression model. In consequence of the study, while there was a positive relation between the age, whether there is state guarantee or not, total number of cross and culture breeding animals, production type, and whether artificial insemination support is benefitted or not in the decisions of milk producers regarding evaluation of the milk, there was a negative relation between the variables regarding the fact that the producer makes production other than stockbreeding, the distance enterprise is far from the district and number of family members working in the enterprise. When all these results are taken into consideration, the sector should be made appealing if a stockbreeding sector that makes production for the market is required. In order to achieve this purpose it is necessary to increase the income gained from stockbreeding. In this context, in order to increase the milk efficiency by working with stocks having a high level of fertileness instead of those with a low level of fertileness and deliver the milk produced by the producer to the market exclusively, it is thought that increasing the number of milk gathering centers available in villages and establishing a profitable and specialized stockbreeding sector will be important in terms of preventing the rural-urban migration and additionally, increasing the life quality of people living in rural areas.
