All Rights Reserved.This study aimed at investigating and comparing cognitive achievements in 7th grade Social Studies Teaching Program and the assessment and evaluation questions in the 7th grade Social Studies textbook based on Krathwohl Taxonomy. The findings showed that cognitive achievements are involved in comprehension category which is one of the categories in cognitive process dimension of Krathwohl Taxonomy. Also, it was found that the assessment and evaluation questions in textbook which are prepared for the achievements mentioned are involved in comprehension category of cognitive process dimension of Krathwohl Taxonomy. The study revealed that cognitive achievements do not display a balanced distribution according to the cognitive process dimension of Krathwohl Taxonomy and its subcategories. Also, it was found that there are very few achievements in the categories of taxonomy which will serve higher level thinking. As for the assessment and evaluation questions in textbook, it can be concluded that these questions, in general, do not display a balanced distribution in terms of the cognitive process dimension of Krathwohl Taxonomy and its subcategories. Similarly, the results showed that there are very few assessment and evaluation questions in the categories of taxonomy which will serve higher level thinking. On the other hand, the results revealed that these questions were prepared in accordance with the related achievements.
