Özet

Objective: The objective of the present study was to estimate age by measuring the pulp width and tooth width of subjects in Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) images. Methods: The study was conducted between November 2020 and November 2021, and included a retrospective analysis of CBCT images obtained from patients who presented between 2008 and 2021. For age estimation, the pulp width/tooth width ratio of the mandibular first molar teeth of 175 patients was calculated in both horizontal and vertical planes.. Results: The findings of the study indicated that linear regression analysis was a viable method for age estimation, with the pulp width/tooth width ratio contributing to 17.8% of the variation in age estimation in the vertical plane and 3.6% in the horizontal plane. It was also determined that the change in age varies by 82.2-96.4%, respectively, depending on other factors. Conclusion: The measurements used for age estimation using CBCT images alone were insufficient and a regression equation was not created.
