Öz Bireyin intihar etmesi, ilk bakışta şahsi bir tercih olarak görülebilir. Ayrıca intihar eyleminden ilk ve en çok intihar edenin etkilendiği düşünülebilir. Fakat bu eylem, insanlık ailesinin bir ferdi tarafından insanlık onuruna bir saldırı, insanlık onurunu koruma ve varlığını devam ettirtme amacında olan bütün dinlerin ve ahlaki kuramların anlamsallığının tüketimidir. Modernizm; insanın değer dünyasında, günlük yaşantısında, varlığı algılayış ve anlamlandırma ameliyesinde değişim meydana getirmiştir. Bireyin tanrı tasavvurunu ve mülkiyet algısını da değiştiren bu süreç neticesinde insanoğlu, kendine bir emanet olarak tevdi edilen metâyı ve bedeni kendi mülkiyetinde görmeye başlamıştır. İntiharın modernitenin bireyselleştirme süreciyle şekillenmesi, intiharın modernleşmeyle daha kapsamlı bir literatüre ulaştığı ve bir olguya dönüştüğü sonucunu ortaya koymaktadır. Belirtilen neticenin niteliği iki şekilde temellendirilmeye çalışılmaktadır. Birincisi kelime olarak “intihar”ın bir “kavrama” dönüşme serüvenini ortaya koyabilmek, ikincisi ise bir eylem olarak “intiharın” modernleşme süreciyle ilişkilendirilerek Türk toplumundaki yaygınlığının istatistikî verilerle aktarmak şeklinde olacaktır. Abstract
Individual’s choice of suicide may seem as a personal choice at the first glance. It can also be thought that firstly and mostly he
is influenced by the action of suicide. However, this action is eventually an attack to the honour of humanity realised by a member of
the human family. It is an attack to the meaning feature of all the religions and moral theories which aim at preserving and sustaining
the honur of humanity. Modernism has brough together change in the human’s value world, daily life and entity perception,
interpretation practise. As a result of this change which also transformed individual’a god concept and property perception he started
to regard the commodity and body committed to him as an entrust in his own property. The fact that the suicide phenomenon is
shapening together with indivualisation process of modernism manifests the result that suicide has reached a more extensive literature
and become a fact with modernism. based on the nature of the specified result it is tried in two ways. First, the word of " suicide" a "
concept" to reveal the transformation journey. The latter acts as a " suicide " in relation with the modernization process will be to
transfer the data of statistical prevalence in Turkish society.
