Özet

Despite intensive research performed on various fronts, geopolymer technology requires lot of understanding, systemization and regulation, if it is to replace OPC in the construction industry. Significant gaps in understanding the impact of different facets of geopolymer synthesis vis-a-vis critical design indices, needs to be plugged in. Characterization and categorization of important reported findings needs to be undertaken for further research and development. The primary objective of this review paper is to provide an in-depth overview of the work that has been done to explore different aspects of geopolymerization. The paper shall try to develop a comprehensive database, from past research work, that elaborates on influence of important factors like physico-chemical properties of precursors, blending, curing, additives, aggressive environmental conditions and chemical activation, that vastly impact critical properties of geopolymer composites.
