In this study, an ultra-wideband transparent absorber composed of surface-etched indium tin oxide (ITO) on polyethylene terephthalate (PET) was designed. The absorber structure includes an ITO-PET resonator, an air gap, and a connected ITO-PET substrate. Simulations indicate that the reflection loss remains below −10 dB within the frequency bands of 2–5.4 GHz, 13.5–15 GHz, and 16.9–20.7 GHz, effectively covering key 5G communication frequencies. Analysis of the electric field and surface current distributions elucidates the absorption mechanism. The absorber's exceptional performance, ultra-wide bandwidth, and the flexibility and full transparency of the materials used suggest its potential as a novel approach for future electromagnetic absorber designs
