Amaç: Bu çalışmanın amacı, 4-6 yaş çocuğa sahip annelerin istismar potansiyellerinin belirlenmesidir.
Yöntem: Araştırma tanımlayıcı tiptedir. Araştırmanın evrenini bir kadın doğum hastanesinde 01 Mart-31 Mayıs 2018 tarihleri arasında refakatçı olarak bulunan kadınlar oluşturmaktadır. Örneklemini ise araştırma kriterlerini karşılayan ve çalışmaya katılmayı kabul eden 133 anne oluşturdu. Veriler kişisel bilgi formu ve İstismar Farkındalık Ölçeği-Ebeveyn Formu kullanılarak yüz-yüze görüşme tekniği ile toplandı. Veriler ortalama ve yüzdelik dağılım ile değerlendirildi.
Bulgular: Annelerin %66.2’si 26-35 yaş aralığında, %32.3’ü ortaokul mezunu, %82’si ev hanımıdır. %21.8’inin geliri giderinden azdır. Katılımcıların %75.9’u çekirdek aile yapısına sahip, %37.6’sı 9-12 yıllık evlidir. %50.4’ünün çocuk sayısı 2’dir. Annelerin istismar potansiyeli puan ortalaması 54.04±4.69’dür. Kesme noktasına göre değerlendirildiğinde annelerin %98.5’i orta derecede istismar potansiyeli sergilemektedir.
Sonuç: Araştırma sonucunda annelerin büyük çoğunluğunun orta düzeyde istismar potansiyeline sahip olduğu saptandı. İstismar potansiyeli olan anne ve babaların istismar ve ihmal düzeyleri tespit edilerek, altta yatan nedenler araştırılabilir ve bu yönde gerekli çalışmalar yapılabilir.
Aim: The aim of this study was to determine the abuse potential of mothers with children aged 4-6 years.
Methods: The research is descriptive. The population of the study consist of women who had caregiver in a maternity hospital between March 01 and May 31, 2018. The sample consisted of 133 mothers who met the research criteria and agree to participate in the study. Data were collected by face-to-face interview technique using personal information form and Abuse Awareness Scale Parents Form. Data were evaluated with mean and percentage distribution.
Results: 66.2% of the mothers were in the 26-35 age range, 32.3% were secondary school graduates and 82% were housewives. 21.8% of the income is less than the expense. 75.9% of the participants had a nuclear family structure and 37.6% were married for 9-12 years. 50.4% have 2 children. The mean score of abuse potential of mothers was 54.04 ± 4.69. When evaluated according to the cut-off point, 98.5% of the mothers show moderate abuse potential.
Conclusion: As a result of the study, it was found the majority of mothers had moderate abuse potential. Abuse and neglect levels of mothers and fathers with the potential of abuse can be determined and the underlying causes can be investigated and necessary studies can be done in this direction.
