Özet

Alpine Skiing has a very important place in winter sports with the increasing number of participants and followers since the first Winter Olympics held in Chamonix/France in 1924 and the first World Championships held in Murren/Switzerland in 1931. The aim of the research is to investigate the relationship between the sportive success levels (Olympic Winter Games and World Ski Championships) and winter tourism levels of Austria, France, Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Canada, Norway, Russia and the United States in Alpine skiing. This event, which was only a sportive competition in the preliminary organizations, became an excellent tool for the promotion and marketing of the province, region and country where the organization was held in the years to come. So much so that some countries have organized the Winter Olympics 4 times (USA), and some have applied for organizing the World Ski Championships 6 times (USA) and have won the right to organize it. Together with the promotion of the ski centers, these organizations have made a significant contribution towards obtaining significant winter tourism revenues.
