In this study, the current legislation affecting the work of public institution archives in Türkiye was evaluated in relation to the management process and decision-making function. In this context, the study analyses Presidential Decree No. 11 on the Presidency of State Archives, which regulates the archival activities of public institutions in Türkiye. The first eight articles of the Decree, and especially the duties of the Document Identification and Evaluation Department in Article 9, are included in the scope of the study. The aim of this study is to analyse the first nine articles of the Decree in force in Türkiye and examine their impact on the management of archival institutions and the decisions of the administrator.
