Görsel, işitsel ve yazınsal sanat dalları, kendi aralarında disiplinlerarası bir bağ ile bir araya gelerek yeni bir yapı oluşturabilirler. Kitap gibi çeşitli doküman formlarında, edebi bir metnin resimleme yoluyla görselleştirilerek, şiir ve görselin birlikte kullanıldığı örnekler bulunmaktadır. Yapı itibariyle oldukça farklı olmalarına rağmen fotoğraf ve şiir de yeni bir ifade biçimi meydana getirmektedir. Tarihsel olarak fotoğraf ve şiir ele alındığında karşımıza kökeni fotoğrafın erken dönemine dayanan Photopoetry ve Photopoem kavramları çıkmaktadır. Photopoetry tüm edebi metinleri kapsarken, Photopoem ise, fotoğraf ve şiirin, fotoğraflar için şiirlerin yazıldığı veya şiirler için fotoğrafların üretildiği kitap gibi ortak bir yapı içerisinde birbirlerini destekledikleri ve tamamladıkları bir biçimi oluşturur. Bu nedenle çalışmada öncelikle tarihsel olarak Photopoetry ve Photopoem örnekleri üzerinden bir inceleme yapılmış ve bu kapsamındaki kavramlar belirlenerek ilk örneklerinden günümüze uzanan süreç ele alınmıştır. Çalışma, günümüzde göz ardı edilmiş bir alan olan Photopoem’in bu ve benzeri araştırmalar neticesinde, edebi metni ve fotoğrafı, ortak bir çalışma alanı olarak benimseyecek olan araştırmacıların ilgisini çekmek ve günümüz sanatçıları için alternatif bir ifade biçimi olarak kullanılmasını amaçlamaktadır. Ayrıca çalışma bağlamında Photopoem, Fotoşiir kavramı üzerinden ele alınarak, Batı ve Türk Edebiyatı örnekleri tespit edilmiş ve günümüz çağdaş Photopoem çalışmaları ile birlikte değerlendirilmiştir.
Visual, auditory and literary branches of art can come together with an interdisciplinary bond and create a new structure. In various document forms such as books, there are examples where poetry and visuals are used together by visualizing a literary text through illustration. Although they are quite different in terms of structure, photography and poetry also create a new form of expression. When photography and poetry are considered historically, we encounter the concepts of Photopoetry and Photopoem, whose origins date back to the early period of photography. While Photopoetry encompasses all literary texts, Photopoem constitutes a form in which photography and poetry support and complement each other in a common structure, such as a book in which poems are written for photographs or photographs are produced for poems. For this reason, in the current study, a historical examination was made regarding the examples of Photopoetry and Photopoem in the first place, and then the process from the first examples to the present day was discussed by explore the concepts within this scope. The study aims to attract the attention of researchers who will adopt Photopoem as a collaborative work area and use it as an alternative form of expression for today's artists. In addition, in the context of the study, Photopoem was discussed over the concept of Fotoşiir. Besides, examples of Western and Turkish Literature were identified and evaluated together with today's contemporary Photopoem studies.
