Abstract

Hydatid cyst disease in humans is an important health problem that can be encountered in all geographies, more frequently in some parts of the world. Intact cysts in endemic areas can be easily diagnosed radiologically. When the hydatid cyst ruptures, it can be confused with many malignant and benign diseases. “Serpent sign” in ruptured pulmonary hydatid cyst should be kept in mind as a rare but important radiological finding for diagnosis.
