Özet

This study was performed to determine the impact of accelerated UV aging on surface adhesion to some wood species treated with heat treated (ThermoWood) and water based varnish. For this purpose, heat treatment was carried out at 190 degrees C for 2 hours and 212 degrees C for 1 and 2 hours according to the ThermoWood method for the Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris Lipsky), European oak (Quercus petreae Liebl.) and Oriental beech (Fagus orientalis Lipsky). Water based single and double component varnishes had been applied to the surfaces of the obtained materials. The UV-A was then aged for 144, 288 and 432 hours (ASTM G 154-06) on a UV aging device with 340 nm fluorescent lamps. After these periods the surface adhesion resistance was measured. According to these results obtained; It had been determined that on the surface of water-based single and double component varnishes applied and heat treated wood showed a decrease in the adhesion value after aging.
