Abstract:In this experimental study, the effect of aluminum porous fins on heat transfer was investigated. In the rectangular channel, the experiments was done while the aluminum prous fins (dimensions 2x9x5 cm) mounted on the heated surface and them were arranged in line in the flow direction. In the experiments, three different aluminum porous fins (P=10, 20 and 40) and total number of fins of 16 with 4 line in flow direction and 4 in the vertical direction of the flow on the heated surface were used by arranging fins 4x4. In all experiments on the test surface, three fins spacing (Sx=72, 82 ve 92 mm) were studied in the flow direction while keeping constant the vertical flow fin spacing (Sy=5 cm). In the range of Re=5000-30000, Nusselt numbers and friction factors for different aluminum porous fins and different fin spacings in the flow directions as well as different top fin spacings (C/H=0, 0.5 ve 1) were investigated on the surface. Max. heat transfer were obtained for fin spacing of Sx=82 mm and top fin spacing of C/H=0. In the conclusion, the structure of various porous of fins has not very important effect on the heat transfer Keywords: Aluminum Porous, Porous Fins, Porous Structure, Finned Surface, Heat Transfer
